Meet Tom
Tom and Jerry were found at just two months old alone, scared and hungry next to a very busy road in New Delhi. Their mom was nowhere in sight and we guess that they had other siblings who did not survive on the harsh streets of India. Bharti, their rescuer, knew that if she left Tom and Jerry that they were very unlikely to survive.
She moved them to a safe location so that they could have a chance at survival and hoped to find them forever homes in India. Tom and Jerry kept getting bigger and stronger but still no one wanted to adopt them. Bharti was very worried that she was never going to be able to find them a forever home and that they would have to spend the rest of their lives living on the street.
Bharti contacted the Foundation and we knew right away we needed to help, as we knew we could easily find homes for them in the United States. Our partner rescue in New York City, Animal Haven, agreed to care for Tom and Jerry once they arrived to the United States.
Tom and Jerry and their flight volunteer landed in New York City on December 28th 2018. They weren't even at Animal Haven for a week before they both got adopted by their forever families.
